Second Quarter Meeting- Eastern Zone - 21st Feb. 2004

Fourth Quarter 2003 Meeting- Western Zone - 29th Nov. 2003

As usual, the meeting was held at NSE Auditorium, Engineering Close, Victoria Island, Lagos. Dignitaries present at the ocassion were Mr Olaleye Alao from Nigeria Online who discussed on GSM, web development, fixed wireless communication, and present problems faced in communication industries of this nation. Also, Mr Funso Adebayo from MTEL(NITEL) gave a technical paper presentation on the "Evolution of GSM". He also spoke on the performances of the GSM operators, and expectations from their various subscribers in Nigeria. Deji Ogunsina from UNAD made an IEE Circuit presentation titled "Welcome to Tomorrow". He made members know the benefits of using the IEE Circuit column of the IEE website. Besides, YM Committees on Technical Issues, Finance, Management, and Web/Information Management were formed voluntarily. Members had the chance of expressing their minds on what have been bothering them and what are expected from the organisation IEE NYMS as a whole. Plans for the next year's upcoming meetings around the nation were made known to members.
Third Quarter 2003 Meeting- Western Zone - 22nd March, 2003

This meeting also came up at NSE Auditorium, V.I., Lagos. Paper presentation was by Mr. Oluwaseun Ngonnase of IT Security Unit, IT Division, Standard Trust Bank, Head Office, Victoria Island, Lagos on "IT Security - The Equilibrium Model". Other issues discussed were
  • Re-engineering the NYMS (Past, Present and Future)
  • Budget and Finances
  • Membership Subscription
  • YM activities (Local and the Big Conference 2003)
  • Local Organizing Bodies
  • Recruitment Tour across the country
  • Safe delivery of Members Item via post, e.t.c.
INAUGURATION CEREMONY- IEE YMS UNN- 5TH July, 2003

It was a moment of excitement as guests came from nooks and crannies of the nation. The theme of the ocassion was "The Computer Programmer in the Nigerian Market-Challenges, Prospects and Opportunities" by Mr Oluwaseun Ngonnase of IT Security Section, Standard Trust Bank, Lagos. Other speakers were Mr. Pius Onobhayedo and Engr. E. Afigbo of SocketWorks Nigerian Limited, Lagos. There was also presentation of awards during the ocassion.
